I’ve been super excited about this week’s blog series! With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I thought we’d commemorate the occasion with
St. Patty’s Week!
Kicking things off are St. Patrick’s Day Traditions.
I have to be honest, I usually skimp on St. Pat’s. It’s not because I don’t love it…I am mostly Irish, after all!
If I’m being honest, I think a major part of me is still recovering from Christmas (who’s with me?!), while the other part is preparing for Easter! This year, though, my five year old’s interest is amped, and I’m thinking it’s time for me to hunker down and make this Holiday a fun one!
Take a look at what I found on Pinterest! These ideas are so ridiculously cute, and EASY…and they’re bound to make my kids’ day…What’s not to love?!
I don’t know why it never occurred to me, but the whole “Catching Leprechaun” idea is simply genius! Of course, Pinterest users are well on top of this!
Here’s are a few of my favorites:
Design Dazzle has got 15 different leprechaun trap ideas up on her blog, but this lego trap below is, by far, my most favorite!
Doodle La’s hat trap is so ridiculously cute…and seriously, I’m thinking this could be an annual decoration, am I right, or am I right?
Admittedly, the first two traps take a bit more work (though SO worth it!).
Let’s have an honest moment here: Too often, I do not leave myself enough time to do these wonderfully amazing and imaginative things for my kids, no matter how much I may want to!
This trap here, by Two Much Fun, allows me to still be the connected mom I long to be but without requiring the extra time required that I don’t have! Seriously, how cute is this?!
Of course, a Leprechaun Trap would not be complete without some sort of evidence of the little guy, am I right?
Meaningful Mama…may I just say that you are the reason I decided to do leprechaun things this St. Pat’s!! This idea is so incredibly clever, and I can hardly wait to make this happen, so thank you in advance!!!
Those Irish lads and lassies sure do know how to have a good time, don’t they? Check out these games here, so you and yours can have a little fun of your own!
When is a scavenger hunt not a good time?! Food, Fun, Family has a free printable scavenger hunt over at their site. Get your kids outside this St. Patrick’s Day…who knows…maybe they’ll get lucky and find a pot of gold!
Again, sometimes we just don’t have the time we would like in order to do the things we want to do! This here is a very simple way to celebrate St. Pat’s with your kids without the need for a lot of advance preparation time! Musical Shamrocks? Sign me up! Thank you, Grandma Ideas!
If you’re still looking for a little extra for your kids on St. Pat’s, check out these 12 fun and clever game ideas from Play, Party, Plan! I’m all about the Cabbage Crawl myself!
This last game favorite of mine is so darn cute, who can resist?! iHeart Naptime has nailed the coin toss…and with so many chances for your kids to win, it’s hard not to love this game! Thank you, Kara, for this great idea!
Ay, lads and lassies, there are just so many pins to choose from, when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day! It really is hard to narrow it down to just a few!
What you are your plans for St. Pat’s? Do you have your own go-to traditions you do each year?
Leave me a note in the comments (with a link, if you’ve got one!).
Also, if you’re looking for additional inspiration, you can find my St. Patty’s Traditions Board here.
I’ve really never jazzed it up for this particular season, but after seeing these pins up above, you can count me in from here on out!
**Now that our St. Patrick’s Day Series is complete, I leave you with the entire post round-up:
