Happy Birthday, to my boy with the most beautiful curls there ever were!
I can hardly believe that it’s been three years already since you came into our lives, and at the same time, it’s hard to comprehend that it’s only been three years. See, you’ve always been a part of our lives, long before you were ever physically in them!
I want you to know how incredibly loved you are and how beyond grateful I am that I get to be your mom. Every minute I get to spend at home with you is a minute blessed and one I will never, ever take for granted.
I love that, when you wake up each morning, the first thing out of your mouth is always on the topic of food.
I love how you need me and how it must be me that you see first thing in the morning.
I love how you get all out of breath when it’s time to use the potty, while you shake your head side-to-side proclaiming, “Run! Run!”.
I love how you sit in your little red car on our front lawn and just face the house for what seems like hours (What are you thinking about in there?).
I love baking with you and making cakes with you (“I mix it?“), and I love that you have a work station right by my side with your fondant.
I love that snug-a-bug-a face and how you need your song each and every night before you fall asleep.
I love how you say “I love you”. (“I YOU, Mommy! I YOU!”)
Everything about you is beautiful and pure and wonderful, and you will always melt my heart, no matter the age! You are my sweet, sweet Curls, and every day, I will only love you more.
Please, as life comes your way, never lose your delight and curiosity for life…
…never lose the excitement with which you truly embrace every inch of every day,
and always take a stand for yourself
(and don’t forget to thank your brother and sister for giving you SO many chances to practice that!).
I hope your birthday was filled with wonder and excitement for you, my boy, because it certainly was for me. I love you with all of my heart….and I cannot wait to see what this next year brings.
(I also can’t wait for the weather to warm up so that we can finally take that new scooter out for a spin!)
I love you, Noo-noo.
